Calmli Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms apply to Calmli ("Calmli", "we", "us"), a small pilot service run by Kumar Nenavath in Hyderabad, India. By creating a Calmli account, adding a parent or subscribing to a plan, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy policy.
1. What Calmli does
Calmli sends an elderly parent one short WhatsApp message a day at a time the family chooses, asking how they are. The parent taps a button, types a reply or gives a missed call to the Calmli number. The family member who set it up (the "caregiver"), the brothers and sisters they invite, and an optional local contact get the answer: a daily summary, and an alert when the parent is unwell, asks for a call or does not reply. Calmli can also ask about medicines and keep the BP and sugar readings the parent sends.
Calmli is not an emergency service and gives no medical advice. Messages and alerts depend on WhatsApp, phone networks and our servers, and can be late or fail. Do not rely on Calmli as the only way to keep someone safe. In an emergency, call 108 (ambulance) or 112.
2. Consent
- Only add a parent who knows about Calmli and is happy to use it. Before any check-in starts, the parent gets a WhatsApp message explaining the service, and nothing happens unless they agree.
- A parent can stop at any time by sending STOP, and restart by sending START.
- Only add local contacts and family members who are happy to receive messages from Calmli about the parent.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older, and the WhatsApp number you sign in with must be yours.
- Keep your phone and the app secure. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Give correct details, especially phone numbers and check-in times, and keep them up to date.
4. Free trial, plans and payments
- New accounts get a 14-day free trial with every feature. You don't need to pay to try Calmli.
- After the trial you can choose a paid plan (Basic or Plus), billed monthly or yearly. The price, in your currency, is shown in the app before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Razorpay (cards, UPI Autopay and net banking). We never see or store your full card details or UPI PIN.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, using the payment method you authorised, until you cancel it.
- If you subscribe during the free trial, your first payment is taken when the trial ends. When you authorise the payment method, your bank may show a small verification charge, which is refunded.
- If a renewal payment fails, Razorpay may try again over the next few days. If it keeps failing, the paid features stop until the payment goes through.
- We may change prices. A new price applies only from a renewal at least 30 days after we tell you about it, and you can cancel before then.
5. Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel at any time in the app (Account, then Plan and billing). Cancelling stops future payments; you keep your plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged.
- Payments are not refunded for the unused part of a billing period, except where the law requires it.
- If we charged you by mistake (for example twice, or after you cancelled), or Calmli did not work for a large part of a period you paid for, write to us within 30 days and we will refund you to the original payment method. Razorpay refunds usually reach your account within 5 to 7 working days.
- Removing a parent or deleting your data does not cancel a subscription by itself: please cancel it too.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Calmli to:
- add or message anyone without their agreement, or pretend to be someone else;
- send spam, harass anyone, or send anything unlawful;
- try to break, overload, copy or reverse engineer the service, or get at data that isn't yours.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. If we close a paid account without a good reason, we will refund the unused part of the period.
7. Changes to the service
Calmli is a pilot and will change as we learn. We may add, change or remove features, and we will tell you in advance about changes that matter to a paid plan. We work hard to keep Calmli running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. WhatsApp, Razorpay and phone networks are run by others.
8. Your data
How we handle personal data, and how to have it deleted, is in our Privacy policy. When you remove a parent in the app, their data is deleted.
9. Limitation of liability
- Calmli is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any harm or loss caused by a check-in, reminder, summary or alert that was missed, late, wrong or not delivered, or by any decision made using information from Calmli.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Calmli in the 3 months before the claim (or ₹1,000 if you have not paid anything).
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under Indian law.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please write to us first and we will try to put it right. Any dispute that we cannot resolve together will be decided by the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, which will have exclusive jurisdiction.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to a paid plan, we will tell you before it applies. If you keep using Calmli after a change, you accept the new terms.
